Minting an NFT may sound complicated and for any newcomer could display itself as a serious challenge. Furthermore, we are quite early on the Cronos Chain and therefore there might not be many people who have minted an NFT before or simply have never done it on Cronos. For this, we have created this simple Step-by-Step Guide.
Visit the Chrome browser extension marketplace and download the MetaMask extension.
I’d suggest creating a new one if you haven’t done so.
Click import wallet if you have an existing wallet.
Set up your password and keep your seed phrase (12 words) somewhere safe. Be sure to write the seed phrase down in physical form and do not leave it anywhere on the Internet.
Switch the connected blockchain by clicking on the tab saying Main Ethereum Network, we need to add Cronos.
Scroll down until you find Custom RPC.
Enter the Cronos settings as follows:
Network Name: Cronos
New RPC URL: https://evm-cronos.crypto.org
ChainID: 25
Symbol: CRO
Block Explorer URL: https://cronos.crypto.org/explorer/
Click Save.
You have now connected to the Cronos mainnet with your Metamask Wallet!
Your Metamask wallet address (which should start with 0x…) is right below your wallet name and can be copied. You can send CRO from your exchange / Crypto.com app to your Metamask Wallet Address by following this article:
Remember to select “ Cronos “ as your network, as shown in the image below:
Download your web3 wallet extension by following the article linked below:
Link your CDC Defi App to your wallet extension by following the article linked below:
You will find that after linking, your wallet extension the address should be the same as the one displayed in your CDC Defi App.
You should be able to find your wallet address easily in the wallet extension!
In preparation for a mint, send CRO from your Exchange or Crypto.com app to your CDC Defi / Wallet Extension Address! Be sure to do an initial test, sending only 10 CRO (or less) to make sure you got the right process.
Attention:
[Keep in mind that if you are using your Crypto.com App to send CRO to your Crypto.com Defi Wallet, you must either link your Defi Wallet & CDC App account, or you have to use the “external withdraw” function due to a recent change in CDC guidelines you must wait for 24H before you can withdraw to a new address you have Whitelisted]
Transactions on the Cronos network require its native token $CRO which will be used for gas fees. You can obtain $CRO from the Crypto.com App.
